Could this be a Marsh Frog? I must add that it was in captivity not wild. I think they are an invasive species in the Uk though?  |

Apparently whichever species this is, it is alien to the UK. I think I have narrowed it to the Pool Frog or the Marsh Frog

The fact it is in captivity means it could be from anywhere in the world. How big was it? do you have any other photo's showing the front? |

No other pics. approx 70-80mm from memory. the text said it was an invasive species so although not native, it does live within the UK in some areas. Don't know which, but I now wish I had checked the name!

I suspect that it is an Edible frog, the legs dont look long enough for marsh. | | |
