Vegetarian cat

There is an article in today's Daily Mail about Dante, claimed to be the world's first vegetarian cat:

Dante refuses all cat food, fish and meat, and will only eat fruit and veg. However, Dante is not purely vegetarian as her owner sneaks bits of meat into her broccoli and melon. Apparently cats need meat or they will go blind. Full details on the Mail's website:

Humans need meat too or they turn into anemic, constantly ill and under the weather, skinny, walking corpse like irritating hippy's.....only in my experience of course

that "must" be tongue in cheek surely.

My father was almost killed in 1947 having eaten a pork pie, listerior (sp) recovered and vowed never to eat meat again, and never has.
He is 90 this year, I rang him at 8-30am on Saturday morning, no answer, rang his mobile

he was at work.
I was born in 1949, raised a vegetarian, had one medical certificate in my life, broke my arm. Last time I saw a doctor was in 1990, medical required for a mortgage, when I rang the surgery for that appointment with my doctor, turned out he had been dead for 12 years.
Its true I'm not fat, 13 stone, I may be irritating but I'm no hippy and have worked hard on farms all my life.

Grrr shall we lynch him muggsy?

I saw this article it's strange. I know some carnivores do suppliment their diet with the occasional bit of veg, grass or fruit but I have never seen anything like this. I know forcing a carnivore to become a veggie is wrong but what do you do if it wants to be one? I hope the owner gives the cat a good variety so she gets plenty of nutrients.
