| | | Lambs
This was too easy. Has anyone managed to photograph a lamb in mid-gambol? I'm never quick enough on the shutter.
(No jokes about gambolling problems please) |

| | | Re: Lambs This lamb was caught (relatively) "mid-gambol"
This in fact was a lamb taken by a golden eagle - photographed on the Isle of Skye (1994) These two images (scanned from a sequence of 12 slides) shows the lamb being brought in by the male. It was a particularly windy day and he was unable to take it into the nest, so he rose above the nest ledge and dropped it. The female came off to retrieve it, and she, being the more powerful of the two successfully took it in for her chick.
Not the gambol you had in mind I'm sure but nevertheless, nature in the raw.

Best bet is to set the camera to continuous shoot and when you see them start to run, start shooting and don't stop. If you have the shutter speed set high enough, manage to follow the action, you might just be lucky enough to get a few shots, but it's definitely not simple.
Weather has conspired to provide me with pretty flat light on every occassion I've been out this year though, so not much to show for my efforts, these are about the best I can muster.
As for static shots, this is probably my favourite this year... |
