Shooting seal in scotland

Read this shocking story on the Countryfile website - NEWS: MPs call for ban on seal shootings off Scottish coast | Countryfile Magazine - apparently its on tonight's programme (why did they have to change the time btw!)

Anyway, I never knew it was legal to kill seals off our shores. Disgusting. Whatever happened to Save our seals.

I just watched this program, I think it's terrible what these people are doing.

They claim that their precious Salmon is being attacked, and not just attacked, but aggresively attacked by the Seals.
So what do they do?
They shoot them.

In my opinion, it makes them mindless, clueless idiots.
Effectively, they are stopping nature. The Seals need to eat so they hunt for food, if a Seal sees "thousands" of Salmon in a pen, it tries to get them.
Scott Landsburgh said that one single Seal could cause trauma throughout the fish, and he is concerned about the welfare of his sacred Salmon. Heaven forbid the Salmon should go to a Seal that needs them to survive rather than Humans.

If the Salmon population goes down, then so be it. Fish is NOT a necessity for Humans.

I was upset by this too as a lot of the salmon I buy is farmed and I feel I should have been informed that seal had been killed in the process of farming this fish. More than happy to buy seal friendly salmon, always buy pole caught tuna.
