(though TBH I couldn't swear that polecat x feral ferret is not a possibility)
Half marks to Venger for mink, very similar.
Comparison with badger
(Scale guesstimated from the spacing of the lines on the paper)
I believe that there are pine marten in Wales RobinP but last I heard the total population was estimated at around sixty individuals in Snowdonia and around the Aberystwyth area. Not that I've ever been lucky enough to see one, even in Scotland never mind here Quote:

| | | Re: Slightly morbid quiz - name that skull Thanks Gerel. Your thoughts on polecat ferret may well right. 80 mm is a big skull for a polecat. 60-70 mm more the norm. Your image shows probable impact damage to the top of the skull. |
