| | Gloucestershire Wildlife Community and other regions. Are there any regional communities on WAB?
I was thinking it would be very interesting and useful too if there was a community section for Gloucestershire Wildlife Enthusiasts - since that's where I live
I'm not putting this very well but to have a focus on your own region, with local enthusiasts from different fields offering specific contributions on the area, might prove useful to us all.
Such a thing may already exist? Or being that specific might not interest the membership since much would already be covered in other forums? Just an idea. What do you think? |

| | | Re: Gloucestershire Wildlife Community and other regions. I see you are from my own home town of Cheltenham Sheryl which is situated in an area which has much to offer. I've no doubt StuDH will reply to your suggestion in due course; it certainly sounds like a good idea.

| | | Re: Gloucestershire Wildlife Community and other regions. In theory it's a good idea, but i'm not sure there's enough of us that regularly contribute? For instance there's the specialist interest groups already set up, but they are fairly rarely used because we tend to communicate in the more regularly checked open forum.
I suppose it would be useful to have a search function so you can find other members in your area. But again some people prefer not to put where they are so that's not infallible either........ |

| | | Re: Gloucestershire Wildlife Community and other regions. well what about a trip to prestbury hill on the edge of Cheltenham, I've never been there but it lists a number of good butterlies, chalkhill blue, dark green frit and brown argus, there's also small blue, green hairstreak and wall but we may miss them even if we manage to sort something out by July..... Nature Reserve - Prestbury Hill, Gloucestershire
Even if the butterfly numbers are few the wildflowers and the views from the hill will be good. Anybody fancy it? I prefer the first (or is it technically the second?)weekend in July (7/8th) but I am aware its short notice, I guess we don't all have to go at the same time! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
