| | | Zoo's in Winter Not sure if this is the right section and i know it's not british wildlife.
Anyway i was thinking about taking a trip to the zoo tommorow but i am not sure it will be worthwhile, does anyone here vistit zoo's in the winter? Are all the animals likely to be inside and difficult to view?
Thanks

| | | Re: Zoo's in Winter Probably the wild birds usually associated with the zoo environment will be more hungry, bolder and easier to observe and photograph.

Thanks |

| | | Re: Zoo's in Winter I'm sure many of the animals will still be in view. Sometimes they're transferred to indoor viewing areas instead. One advantage to visiting in Winter is lack of crowds so you're much more likely to actually see something.

| | | Re: Zoo's in Winter Yes I went to a nearby zoo in late November I think it was and it was lovely to be able to sit quietly with the animals, largely undisturbed by other visitors. This was particularly true in the tropical house where the birds came really close as I was able to sit still and they got used to me being there very quickly. |

| | | Re: Zoo's in Winter I always say winter time is best theres not so many people a round plus no screaming children not that I dislike children cos I do have them and grandchildren , but I do appreciate a bit of peace when I can walk a round quietly and take in what im seeing . its lovely time to go. sheila
