| | | Encouraging bats to stay I have 6 bats in my garden and would like to encourage them to stay. Can anybody tell me the best place to erect a bat box? I do have 2 lime trees at the bottom of the garden
Im unsure as to how high the boxes must be placed and if they prefer a North, South, East or West facing |

| | | Re: Encouraging bats to stay I can't advise on bat boxes, but I would advise that you concentrate first on making sure they can't get into your loft. There is no law against prevention! |

| | | Re: Encouraging bats to stay I dont know a lot about bats but isnt it likely that these will be male bats at a summer roost who will return to the main colony at the end of the summer ?
I would personaly still put boxes up just in case. |

| | | Re: Encouraging bats to stay Thanks folks for all your help
I spoke with SNH who have been a tremendous help and advised on how best to encourage them to stay - I even made my own bat box using a Kit that just requires assembling
I do know that bats are a protected species and have sought help from SNH in relation to another matter involving bats
will have a look at your own bats forum IF and WHEN i find the time!....been all go just now with observations on cetaceans within our area | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
