Andrew | Hi Andrew,
A favourite of mine is "Eagle Island - A Year on the Isle of Mull"
It's in the BBC Natural World series, made by Gordon Buchanan.
Concentrates on the Sea Eagle, also otters, seals, minke whales etc. Stunning scenery.
I've also recently discovered RMG Wildlife who make films mainly concentrating on the wildlife of Dorset (e.g. Sika deer on the Arne peninsular) plus a dvd of all British butterflies.
Cheers,
Rog |

Last of the Scottish Wildcats by Steve Piper from Coffee Films, is a pretty good bet - very interesting. Its a very well rounded film, its gathered together a good deal of information about the cats as well as the conservation issues surrounding them.
Half the profits go to the Scottish Wildcat Association to - so the cats get a bit of Xmas cheers too!
all the best |

| | | Re: Recommended Wildlife DVD's David Attenborough's DVDs are extremely useful, the Life of Birds especially if you want a good bird one..but they aren't all British birds..but i know if you go into a HMV store [if theres one near you!] and look in the 'Documentaries' section in the DVD's they have lots and lots of DVD's there to choose from..depending on the size of the store I guess.
I have a book which is useful aswell if you're into books?
Its called RSPB Wildlife of Britain - the website says this:
'Take a spectacular photographic look at Britain's flora and fauna. From golden eagles in the Scottish Highlands to Portuguese Man 'o' War jellyfish off the coast of Cornwall, Britain boasts an astonishing array of wildlife and habitat. Explore its extraordinary beauty, diversity and wonder from the comfort of your front room. British wildlife is revealed habit by habitat: trees, flowers and plants, fungi, insects, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, invertebrates, fish and birds are all profiled; changes through the seaons are uncovered; and key information on when and where to experience first hand such plants and animals is provided. It provides outstanding reference for all the family; a visual testimony to the extraordinary scope and depth of Britain's wildlife.'
heres a link! - Waterstones.com: Natural History and Pets: RSPB Wildlife of Britain by George McGavin, et al. (2008)
hope this helps a bit =] |

| | | Re: Recommended Wildlife DVD's Earth is an amazing documentary, not just on british species but obviously the world as a whole and the peril they encounter. If you have a blu ray player all the better as the scenary portrayed when watched in blu ray is truely spectacular. It's basically a shortened down version of the documentary series the plant earth but i loved it.
