| | | Findhorn Valley Hi,
Findhorn Valley is accepted as a good place to see raptors, which side of the A9 is best, East or West?.
And if anyone can give the best places to park for a days walking in the valley, I would be really grateful.
Thanks,
Tony |

| | | Re: Findhorn Valley West coming from Aviemore, turn off at the Findhorn bridge at Tomatin follow the road down for a couple of miles, watch for oncoming traffic as it's a single file road for most off the way. There are parking places just after the woods on the left hand side, the road ends soon after this and turns into a dirt track, so use your leggies.
Look out for Peregrine, Golden Eagle, feral goats and Red Deer among other things.
Good luck it's a fantastic place and one of the really great scenic wild places in britain. |

If in any doubt of the direction Darwin, you want to be travelling upstream on the Findhorn and up Strathdearn on the west side of the river. If you look on the map, you want to be near a place called Coignafearn, or Coignafearn Lodge.
ps. didn't we see Salmon spawning last time we was there Kev? Though it was in late November I think! |

| Yeah I can well believe that, although it's difficult to judge whilst trying to drive, look at the scenery and watch out for the critters all at the same time.
Oh and don't forget those winds trying to change the car into Chitty Chitty bang bang.
Yeah the Salmon were great, Findhorn is one of my favourite places on earth. |

| | | Re: Findhorn Valley Hi,
Many thanks for that, just tracked it from Coignafearn to Findhorn Bridge using Memory Map software and its just under 10 miles on the road.
I'll head for that armed with a lot of patience and I'll pack some good luck too.
Many thanks for helping me out,
