| | | BBC Country File Photo Comp Just out of curiosity did anyone on WAB enter a photo for the BBC Country File Animals in Action Comp, and if so did anyone get picked.
I was going to enter this one but as it was early morning and poor light the exposure wasn't too good.
It was going to be called Dawn Yawn

| | | Re: BBC Country File Photo Comp That's a good pic and very apt description. With the excellent standard of pictures on WAB it would not surprise me if there are quite a few WAB'rs pics been entered.

| | | Re: BBC Country File Photo Comp That has really really suprised me, this post has been up for just under a week and no response whatsoever. I thought we would have had quite a few entries from the websites members, just goes to show, you never can tell.

| | | Re: BBC Country File Photo Comp Be very wary of the 'rules' of any bbc competition. I wouldn't enter because of them. I know many who do not frequent this forum who will not enter on principle. |

Photographer keeps copyright but allows BBC to use the picture when they want basically. They make a calendar out of it. Winner gets prize money and thats it. Seems reasonable.

Many other comps give organiser free use for publicity but not onward selling, etc. Read them. If you're happy fine. |

| | | Re: BBC Country File Photo Comp I was a bit miffed a few years ago. I entered a pic it wasn't good enough even if I do say so myself, but the winner was a mushroom which to my eyes (I could be wrong) had been set up with back light coming from underneath. When I read the rules it stated no manipulation of the subject was allowed.
But it won all the same.

| | | Re: BBC Country File Photo Comp Supplementary flash/ reflectors wouldn't fall into this as they are part of the shooting process. Although in your case 'no manipulation' might have referred to not inteferring with the subject itself, I'd sugget the rule may have meant 'no manipulation' in the context of post shot work with programs like photoshop. Something like this would not have been allowed. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
