A couple of dates to bear in mind if you're intending to photograph the rut in Richmond Park

Sunday 21st September - Richmond Park Open Day (based at Holly Lodge)

- expect lots more people than usual for the time of year

and (courtesy of Nature, Wildlife and Landscape Photography Resource )

Saturday 11th October "The Rut", a shoot off between the Bradgate and Richmond crews.

- presumably one of those "NATO days" I mentioned... a good day for 'lens envy'. I know no more than this ...
(This coincides with the WAB trip to the New Forest)

All in sharp contrast with earlier this week when there was just one lady sitting on a chair photographing the resting senior stags with a spotting scope all alone with them in their favourite field under Spankers Hill.
