I have an owl outside my window calling can anyone else hear any wildlife from there computers?

Any wildlife has been drowned out by the rain beating down on the window.But today there was little rain and I could hear the collared dove cooing on top of the chimney.Cant hear no wildlife now,just the cars going up and down the road

I very occasionally hear them where I live, it's a beautiful sound and quite haunting! Right that's it I'm off to see if I can hear them tomorrow night at my local reserve. The only sound I can hear at the moment are the human kind returning to their homes from the pubs and clubs

I can hear a few of these species but there not as nice to listen to as the owl

Deer boy, I know just what you mean with the owls alongside the house.
I have a small wood next to my house and am lucky enough to have a pair of Long Eared Owls in residence. I hear them calling most nights and very often sit outside with a cup of tea just listening to them. Saying that, when their young fledged, we had the young owls sitting in the trees outside the house calling all night long. Their squeaking nearly drove us mad, you ceartainly could not leave the windows open or you could not sleep. That's the price you pay for living in the country.
I also have an Eagle Owl which belongs to my son in a flight in the back garden, he calls all night long.
A few years ago we put up an owl box and that is used all year long by the Barn Owls. They have just successfully reared three youngsters which I see most nights, one of them likes to roost towards the front of the barn and I have been able to get a few pictures of him when he decides to sit still for long enough.
I just love owls.

Brilliant you should try & get some pics, i managed to film one last year right outside my front door he didn't seem to mind me stood there & i got some nice footage

You're so lucky Ron! River and a wood on your doorstep! Some folk have all the luck! I'm away out tonight to have a listen out for them. At our reserve we have Tawny, short-eared and we're suppose to have a Long-eared owl too and occasionally a barn owl has been seen. I'll take the bat detector as well, as long as it doesn't rain I should hear the pips.

Yep, my fella munching on crisps

I've just been to gaze lovingly at pond and can hear very low and quiet croak of a frog, tho can't hear from house as cottage walls are nearly 2 foot thick !!

Not many Dragonflies and never damsels dear. Plenty of birds though, Dippers, Herons, Mallards, Mergansers, Grey and Yellow Wagtails and a Kingfishers that always gives a fly past, never stops. I very rarely see the Owls but certainly hear them.

4 tawny's, a barn owl and a nest of barn owl chicks screeeeching their heads off!!
