new

hi,. we are new to the forum but have joined the butterfly conservation trust. Anyway- this may sound like a daft question but here goes anyway!

This summer we decided to grow our own vet,. very successful apart from the cabbage,. we have had hundred of caterpilla's ,. no problem,. we gave them the cabbage! however we are eagerly awaiting cocoon time, but they seem to have reduced immensly in numbers- where do they go to become cocoons???

we would love to know,. we have enjoyed watching the eggs- caterpilla stage- no cabbage for sunday lunch but this has been a better experience!

Re: new

It depends on the species, these are likely one of the whites. They will find a fence post, a alcove in a fence, shed, tree trunk, etc.

Oh, veg. I should have guessed from the post

I hope you get to see what they become. Just keep looking and you should find them.

A warm welcome to WAB. They will be hiding somewhere and it will be a nice surprise when they emerge.

Re: new

I'd be happy with £25! Round here it's more like £50 just to look at Tiddles or Rover.
