As nice as Buddleia is, it is a non-native, which can be very invasive in the right (wrong) situations, and could be detrimental to the area you are concerned about. You would also be breaking the law by deliberately planting a non-native species in the countryside.

Cheers,

Adam

Well done Leifus! Really glad that you have had a result with this one. I'm sure the farmer was really impressed by your letter (I know I would have been!). It will be great to read your blog and see some of the pictures from the meadow.

Will she mow an area as a landing strip for the flying pigs?

Won't you be back to square one then? What with compulsory set-aside being scrapped I really would advise that some contact with the wildlife trust would be appropriate if only to gauge the importance of the site. Then they might be able to assist in the future management of the site in some way e.g. grant-funding, ELS agri-environment scheme, etc.

Best of luck,

Adam
