The Government’s intention is to develop a strategy for reviewing current and developing future policies on managing wildlife. As Phase 1 of this process the Government has published a consultation paper and welcomes comments from all interested parties ('stakeholders'). The consultation period lasts 12 weeks, closing on 22nd September 2008.
The British Wildlife Rehabilitation Council has set up a dedicated area on their forum (for rehabilitators and those interested in wildlife rehabilitation, "The Consulting Room", accessible via
Welcome to the BRITISH WILDLIFE REHABILITATION COUNCIL and clicking on the link to "The Consulting Room"), listing most of the content of the consultation paper and the 10 questions Government are seeking responses to. The BWRC is to collate responses posted on the forum by 31st August 2008, and submit to Government.
If you want your views on the direction of a Wildlife Management Strategy for the UK to be heard by Defra, visit the forum and post your responses now!
