House mouse ???

Can anybody confirm or otherwise that my picture is an House Mouse. Photograph taken in back garden and tonite noticed at least 2 young nearby.
Should I be worried they may invade our house.
Purposely built a wild life garden and pond which evolving nicely and would hate to have an infestation of mice in the house.

No, that's a Wood Mouse (or just possibly a Yellow Necked Mouse). These two species are also not averse to entering houses, so watch out for signs of mice (thoiugh they will probably be happy outside till the winter)

Thanks for the confirmation.
After further research I had come to that conclusion, though its nice to have confirmation.
I now somehow feel less concerned and will leave them alone.

Hi Allen, yes, I also think it's a Wood Mouse. Lucky you having a wild life pond. What sort of wild life has it attracted so far?

Hi Tracey,
Unfortunately my backgarden is walled so apart from plenty of frogs and a couple of toads nothing too exciting.
However, built the pond and stream as a watering hole and bathing area for the birds...and it has become very popular.
Other week had a pair of ducks pay a short visit !!!
Incidentally two of the Wood Mice young have perished :-(
