| | | Brown and Pink Butterfly
Can anyone help? Just seen a butterfly in my garden - about 1" long, black head. When in flight looks completely bright fuchsia pink but on close inspection, the wings are brown with an edging of bright red/pink, almost as if someone has gone round them with a felt tip pen!  |

I'm no moth expert, but could be a cinnabar moth.

I think we have a thread about this about once a year. It usually ends up being a Cinnabar Moth.

Brown & Pink. Elephant Hawk Moth immediatally springs to mind!

Yes, it did turn out to be that - found the Sussex Moth Group and emailed their chairman - he confirmed it to be so. Thanks for your help everyone! |
