| | UID spider - help please Can anyone help me identifiy this spider. My son found it underneath our windowsill on the front wall of our house in early June.  |

| | | Re: UID spider - help please I think this is an extremely pale form, gravid Tegenaria spp though I can't confirm it from these photos, they just aren't sharp enough (sorry) (and I'm not 100% on that either)

| | | Re: UID spider - help please There are several Tegenaria spp that occupy our homes with us, sadly you can't get to species level from a photo.
They're good for your house, keeping down insect populations etc. Enjoy them

Welcome to WAB by the way  | Venger, it looks very similar to Amaurobius doesn't it and the window would fit in perfectly but you're probably right. Probably House spider.

| | | Re: UID spider - help please The head is too narrow to be an Amaurobius spp and the eye placement (from what you can see) is also wrong. First thing that jumped out to me was that it was an Agelenidae, just from it's general shape.
It was the paleness that really threw me (you know how hard it is to ID Tegenaria anyway) not been able to see the spines didn't help either.
