| | | Do big cats really roam wild in Britain? A few years back I was convinced I spotted a "big cat" on Minchinhampton Common in the Cotswolds. Although I was within a few 10s of metres away, it was very dark and I couldn't see clearly, but the beast was most definitely very large and walked away from me in a very big cat-like manner. I was fairly scared at the time.
Has anyone else had a "big cat" experience in the UK? |

| | | Re: Do big cats really roam wild in Britain? Hiya, I have seen a big cat locally in south east kent. I have seen this bIg cat on several occasions during night time hours and I believe it to be a puma. This is based on colour and size. I have also based this on what (animals) has/have gone missing locally over the last few years, dogs/goats/chicken/rabbits seem to make up a lot of it's prey. We must remember that wild boar and deer are now prevalent here too. I have seen both these on numerous occasions locally.
The local woods/forest is a favourite spot for dog walkers and to have found an adult full sized Snautzer? missing is something I will not forget! The poor owners were absolutely beside themselves with worry! I helped them to search the forest and to put up posters for their beloved dog. It was never found.
One has to ask if the prey animal may have enough food to sustain viable life for itself and offspring? I can only say that in this instant it does.
