Pond worms

I have lots of tiny black worms, apprx 2mm, on the waterfalls in my pond. They are attached on one end to the waterfall surface & are formed up in rows at right angles to the water flow. What are they & are they harmful to my Koi & Goldfish?

not sure but sounds like mosquito larva, are they wriggling around or still?
someone else will no for sure, and if they cause harm to fish

Sound like mosquito larvae.

I have never heard of them harming fish. I think it's the other way round

i dont think thay are mozzy
i have them too in my fast flowing header pond outlet
and i have mozzy in a still pond
i think but dont quote me on this mozzy dont like moving water
i want to know what thay are too

I found this on Google:

Blackflies are smaller than mosquitoes, with more compact bodies. Their larvae are specialized for life in fast-flowing water; they anchor themselves to rocks at the bottom of rivers with a ring of hooks and silk safety ropes. Thus positioned, they absorb oxygen through their exoskeleton, and sweep particles from the water with their mouth brushes. When mature, the adults ride to the surface in a bubble, and take to the wing.

They are a member of the family Simuliidae.

blackfly larvae
google it and see if yours look like that
