springwatch action team

the springwatch action team are going to be in bridgwater tomorow (sun 8th june) to clean up bower pond and are holding birdbox and bug hotel building workshops 11am to 4pm
how cool is that !!
i am going at 12.30 with the kids

Good on ya Cat,
Hope you get a lot of people turn up to help, it's a worth while cause,
and you will benefit by the wildlife that will come to the pond,
Hope you have lots of fun with the bird boxes and the bug houses,
The bug house that I made 3 years ago now has a third generation of Leaf cutter bees in it there are 13 holes that are occupied and I can't wait to see the adult bees emerge from the holes where they spent the autumn and winter as eggs, then grubs and finaly emerge as adults.

we had a wonderful day
it was sunny and warm.
we mad a bug hotel and helped make a bird box
the swat team pulled lots of rubbish out of the pond
and we all planted hazels and lots of wild flowers

I suppose it had to happen eventually, the Milton Keynes SWAT site has been vandalised. Obviously yobs from the lower end of the gene pool.
