Poor Dear/Thanks to the Vet.

Hi,
Its been a while since I logged on but I must say that it is once again not a happy story.
Last night after finnishing my shift(lorry driver), I was driving along the country roads on my way home when I came across a dear that had been hit, I pulled over and saw that its back was probably broken as its hind legs were dragging as it desperately tried to escape, it only got as far as the road side and couldn't manage anymore.I called RSPCA but nobdy in, so I called the local vet at 3am and dragged him out to the scene,He immediatley put the dear to sleep while I held on to its horns, what a relief to see it now still after all the struggle with what must have been agony.
I would just like to pay my respect to the vet from Norwood vetenary center in Beverley East Yorkshire for coming out to a wild animal at that time ,

and my bewilderment at the driver who hit it and left it in such a state,(maybe alcohol prevented them from staying).

Welcome back and good on you for doing that for a suffering animal. Good vet too.

Well done, there's nothing worse than seeing an animal suffering.

Its good you did something.
I hate to see animals suffering. I knocked down a cat and called the vet out, They were very good and came straight out. This was a Saturday afternoon as well..

Re: Poor Dear/Thanks to the Vet.

Very sad. Unfortunately wild animals were not created to deal with roads and cars. At least the Deer was saved from any more suffering, thanks to you.
