Found this little fella on some nettles near the edge of Marsworth Reservoir, Bucks. Any ideas what species?

Not a Steatoda sp, it's a orb weaver, a member of the Larinioides genus. from the look of it a female Larinioides cornutus, though I can't confirm that without shots of the epigyne.

I saw a lot of Lariniodes cornutus at Stodmarsh yesterday. This species does seem to prefer rank vegetation near water. | | |
