Elderly or tatty birds and insects

Hi,

I have been going through my pictures recently and noticed these pictures seemingly depicting birds or insects with signs of age or tattiness. Perhaps you'll find these pictures interesting.

An elderly/second year(?) Comma


A dented Harlequin


I can just feel this crow is a little older...


A male common darter (Oct '07) with a half-wing. It could still fly though

I dont think comma's live for two years, Usually hatch late mid/late summer, hibernate, breed and die in spring/early summer and so on.

Loving the crow I can just imagine him saying "When I was a lad...." and that poor harlequin, think he needs to see a panel beater. It just goes to show age gets us all.. Fi. X X X X
