I am glad we are allowed our views wether pro/anti any topic, especially if reasons are backed up by people with extensive knowledge of their subjects. | Thank god we are not banned or frozen for our views on Bill. I for one would certainly be iced. I don't personally have anything against Bill and he is probably a very nice man, it's just his constant interrupting, weird noises and inane chatter that spoils the viewing for me. On his own he's more or less fine but put him with another human and off he goes. |

You post really made me smile Ron! I have to say, I really can't make my mind up about Bill, but your summary of him is certainly spot on!

Cheers Chris,
It's probably just me that's being hypercritical but I have absolutely nothing against Bill and I usually enjoy his "Oddie goes Wild" series - when he is being serious. It's when he tries to be funny - that's what turns me off, that and the twitching.
I also really like Chris Packham but I notice that he talks with his hands, which he can't keep at his side.
As I said, it's probably just me being picky.

Needs to be done properly, of course.

Got no time for him at all.

Simon King on the other hand I think is brilliant. A country mile ahead of the rest.

Would any of us do as well or better do you think ?

Oh, asked her and she won't. That makes me really cross. (but not grumpy, you might just complain about anything, and I don't, only the Daily Mail and the weather, oh and that new kind of rain we get, never.... Sorry)

I suggest we call it a day here, you can of course start a new thread all about the presenters, although it's been covered many times before. |

Bills gotta be my fave but then he's a crazy Brummie like me | I have to chip in here. Yon Mr Oddie is a son of the great red rose county (Lancashire) and was born not too far from me in Rochdale. I think he did move to the Midlands as a child though.
Sorry to be picky! It's just that dear Rochdale doesn't have a great deal going for it and many would perhaps consider this an accolade for the town!
Regards, Chris

Regards, Chris | Your quite right Chris!!
smack my paws
He's always in our local papers and he does talkin with the regional accent so i hope i can be forgiven for presuming wrongly that he was from round these parts
He was born in Rochdale as you say
Did you see that WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE that they did on him some time back?
Quite a sad upbringing really with his mothers mental illness and all that.
Thinks his family moved here when he was very young. |

Thinks his family moved here when he was very young. | I did see the programme and really enjoyed it. Going off on a mega-tangent to this thread (sorry folks), but do you remember the distant family member he met, who looked very similar (I think he lent Bill a family tree), well my auntie knows him!
Great eh?!
