Well this is my 1st post on here & this is my 'wildlife moment'. 4.30am this morning I heard a scream & thought it was my cats having a bundle..... heard it again, got up to investigate & found a huge frog screaming at my tom cat! I didnt know frogs could scream! Think I was more scared than the frog!! Anyway, 4.45am, frog back in pond, cat asleep on bed, me wide awake!! |

Thank you for the post gave me a laugh. Never heard a screaming frog sounds like something from a nightmare! Mind you I don't suppose people would believe it if it was in a film! So lucky you.
Hope you enjoy the site and I look forward to reading more of your posts.

My friend's cat used to catch frogs and apparently they used to make a screaming noise.
She used to spend most of her evenings trying to rescue them.

| | | Re: What's your most recent " Wildlife Moment"? Just a quick update on the screaming frog: Frog no worse for wear, decided to check on him late last night, (I looked very fetching in my pyjama's & wellington's, armed with a torch!) Neighbours obviously think im insane, (either that or Im a stalker!). Anyway, frog seemed quite happy, & I had a decent nights sleep. Thanks for the welcome's

| | | Re: What's your most recent " Wildlife Moment"? My most recent wildlife moment was on my first fly fishing trip last Friday after work .... I squeezed in a couple of hours fly fishing on the river near the house... Arrived on bank at 5.30 watched heron after the toads that are everywhere in the margins ready to breed. Then spotted a Mink and tried to watch where it was heading to. Did a bit of fishing for an hour whilst walking the half mile down to the sea.. On my way back up was stood midstream and looked up to see Roe deer grazing on bank 20 metres away I think that I was up to my thighs in the water made him wonder what I was. On my way back to car spotted some tracks which I think were Otter. Good to see its still around.....

| | | Re: What's your most recent " Wildlife Moment"? Mine was a couple of weekends ago when I was peering from an upstairs window into the back garden when suddenly there was this clatter of wings, a loud shreik and a huge brown bird flying towards me! I then realised there was a cat in the garden that had startled a female pheasant that was rooting around in the undergrowth at the back. She landed safely on top of the garage roof or so I thought until the cat decided to scale the greenhouse and jump on the garage the pheasant was letting out warning chirps and the cat was crouched low about to pounce so I opened the window and shooed it off, poor pheasant doubt she'll ever be seen in the garden again |

| | | Re: What's your most recent " Wildlife Moment"? Hi all i was out yesterday filming deer when i saw a Fox coming straight towards me it went straight past & eventually out of sight. Then only a few minutes later i saw a second Fox but he seemed to get scared by the deer & ran off.On both occasions i got very close but not very good footage because they kept going behind the trees |

| | | Re: What's your most recent " Wildlife Moment"? I saw a barn owl briefly, it alighted on top of a telegraph pole as I was driving to fetch my son from the cinema on Friday. I'd been moaning about going the 16 mile round trip at 11pm but that quick glimpse made it all worthwhile |

| | | Re: What's your most recent " Wildlife Moment"? Mosr recent hmmmm well that has to be.....
Last Wednesday I was cycling around the lake in Wolloton park in my lunch break, I was quietly minding my own business and admiring the wildlife and other fauna when I heard a rustle in the rhodedendrons next to the path caught my attention, Kids I thought oh no!! seven yes count em seven stags jumped over the fence no further than 10 metres in front of me and stood in front of me. Awesome I thought! then came my second thought arn't they big and er quite close.....
It was a experience that I will always remember (Even the bit where I thought i was going to have to jump in the lake)
