Well, I believe Limpets do, day after day, and eventually wear a ring on "their" rock (or is that a myth?)

That's true for limpets. They can create quite a deep ring. So deep you'd wonder that they could get out of it and move else where!

It looks a bit like that stuff that attached itself to one of the Thunderbirds in outerspace in Thunderbirds the Movie, and when it came back to earth it caused all sorts of problems so be afraid, be very afraid
