Animal of solitude means nothing to me. But for 'lonely' I would think of any creature that lives in herds or social groups and is separated from them, e.g. a single pig in a sty or a lone chimp in a zoo or a wildebeest split from the herd. |

A lone wolf springs to mind but maybe not a good example for a social pack animal!!
