Hi Hoobs, thanks for the support, your very right. You just reminded me of a key point also , just the fact that mostly woodlands arnt managed for wildlife so the work is carried out as and when needed for timber. Its easy for me to forget that as Its second nature to pin all of my work around wildlife etc... Your right about the swapping of a good chainsaw operator for timber, not easy to come by, hopefully I can thin larger trees in stages (in the winter!) and remove them without too much damage to ground.
Will be selective thinning and it does make life difficult when extracting, but all for a good cause...
