when, in the morning, you hear a dog barking just outside the office window, look outside and see this chap:


and in the afternoon, your two-year old comes into the office, looks out of the window and says "look Daddy, a pheasant":


That's a nice day.

oooh I just love foxes sooo much, bet that made your day. I'm overlooking SSSI oak woodland from my office window, only been there 2 months so can't wait for the spring to see what arrives in the trees and the ponds etc further afield. Pied Flycatchers amongst others hopefully.

I touch type and am really pleased cos this means I can type out my recording on the pc while watching the jays and nuthatches next to the window.

That makes the office pretty nice, but NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING, compares to the sheer exhileration of sleeping in our spare room with the sash window and curtains open, and having bats fluttering around IN the room.... now That's a cool house!
