Dartmoor

I listened to Midweek on Radio 4 this morning where one of the guests was Satish Kumar, the founder of Schumacher College, who has been involved in the making of what sounds like a very interesting TV programme on Dartmoor and its wildlife. It's on BBC2 this Friday at 8pm. Sounds well worth watching.(and I don't work for the BBC!)

Thanks for that. I will definately watch that.. As I have spent many a happy times up on the Moors, I was lucky to live only a 20 min drive away

Re: Dartmoor

This film was directed and produced by Andrew Graham Brown who directed The Natural World: Mississippi - Tales of the Last River Rat which is probably one of the best films I have ever seen so it should be a good un....Im looking forward to it....

Re: Dartmoor

Fantastic, stunning, evoking, passionate and just brilliant. So well made with lovely music and editing. The best Natural history film I have seen for ages. Hats of to the team who made this...A must see for anyone who missed it. All of the footage was so well shot, the cuckoo was just amazing and so to was the starlings it was just perfect....And what a beckon of light Satish kumar is...The last film I watched of this guys (Andrew Graham Brown) touched me and this did the same...Superb.

Question Re: Dartmoor

Hi - I have just joined. I also loved Earth Pilgrim and the music. Does anyone know what the music was that was playing when Satish was talking about Jainism?

Re: Dartmoor

Welcome to WAB! If you go to the Meetings and Events Forum (TV and Radio) you'll find several messages about the music that was played during the programme.

Re: Dartmoor

I missed the programme Earth Pilgrim, and watched it last night on video from the TV. It was beautiful. Nature does all that was said for me. It is so true that we are here just borrowing the earth for such a short time and we should look after it. When a bird sings, I look up, I look at trees, flowers, the sky, it is such a shame that many people are too busy or not interested in our natural world. Nature should be taught at school along with the respect it deserves.
If you missed it and someone has a copy, watch it and you will know what I mean.
