| | | Re: What is your Favourite British Animal? I think you two are confusing certain things - primarily the difference between conscripted soldiers such as those that fought in the Great Anti-Fascist War, as it was described in the Soviet Union, and volunteers who sign up for the pay and, of course, can have no complaints if they are shipped off to be slaughtered.
There may be justifiable wars (such as that against Hitler) and there may be unjustifiable ones (such as fighting for Bush's oil supply) but please let's not generalise that all wars are plots or, conversely, that all wars are justified. This is all getting somewhat off topic. Perhaps we could all wish and strive to achieve, in whatever way possible, a war-free world? Quote:

And if that choice is "raising funds to ensure the survival of creatures that your average Countryman living in,oh,i'm gonna say,India has to fear for his very life, just to tend his fields and care for his crop", then so be it.
2. I said "doubly fortunate", because your other fortune is that you have never had the misfortune to see your friends life blood run into the gutters of these (expletive deleted) places, that our Government have sent and continue send us to.
Next time you are sat, nice and cosey, either in your nice safe home or in ..."the safety of our society and our peaceful danger free countryside.....", give a thought to those who have made this possible and do not make them one of the scape goats of your argument.. |

| | | Re: What is your Favourite British Animal? Oh, this is VERY difficult.
I will assume that "animal" means "mammal" which then narrows down the choices substantially.
Mammal? .... it has to be the Otter .... I always get such a thrill when I see one and this was just exceptional .... Otter encounter
