I presume you're not a pro film maker/photographer, but have you had any of your work published anywhere?

I'm a Norfolk lad myself | I think video upload isnt currently possible but i believe that stu is working on it - however the ban on externally linked images doesnt apply to video (at the moment) so you can put your stuff on utube or similar and post links here.

I guess video links are not permissible. | i guess it depends on what and where - and who you are linking to. what i'd suggest peter to do would be to pm our admin stuartdh and ask his permission to link some - he'll also be able to give you the advice on how best to do it
edit:i just reported my own post and asked for an admin / mod opinion on this so we should have the full sp soon

| | | Re: Film makers? We're literally updating the server as I type to a bigger machine that should now enable us to run videos a lot better than they were working on previous tests. I'll hopefully get to try out a few clips tomorrow then if all is OK we'll start a video section.

| | | Re: Film makers? I'm very interested in Wildlife Filming (in a very amateur way). I actuallly did an honours degree in photography in 1993, but wish I had now done film instead. I'm teaching myself a lot of stuff... especially fieldcraft (which you can't really learn at college!). I will get better... but it may take me some time! About to update my camera to a Canon or Sony HD Videocam.... can't afford a Canon XL2 yet! (and not strong enough to carry it across miles of mud!). Would be great to see what you guys have been doing... anyone post film to UTube or Google Video or have their own Blog?

For my wild life videos I use a 100 to 500mm & 300mm prim lenses on my Canon XL2 cams, with a lens adaptor for Nikon lens made by Les Bosher Les Bosher - Camera Engineer
For more info on all cams and video go to The Digital Video Information Network and join in with the under water over land challenge competitions, next one starts in February 08 |

| | | Re: Film makers? Hey id like to get into filming wildlife profesionally and im still in school so ive got time to learn. Right now im doing photography but my camera has a video camera on it which is pretty good qaulity and i have sound. Maybe you could tell me what camcorders are acceptable to start with? would my camera be okay? I often practice my filming techniques with my mates i film them on thier bikes. Could you give me a few tips on how i can get some really good stuff? apart from telling me to practice i take my cam every where .
Thanks |
