Here's my top twenty as it presently stands, though I keep thinking of more ones that should be on it
1.
Badgers, just love these and their setts and everything about them
2. Owls, Tawny and Barn, though don't see these often. Love their noises!
3.Rats. Yes, an odd one, but have had pet rats and known country rats they are so clever and would love to live

in our houses
4. Jackdaws. Had an injured one for nearly 3 years, he was a star. Love to hear them at sunset before roosting.
5. Rooks, had an injured one of these too, sophisticated social structures.
6.
Adders. Beautiful native snakes, haven't seen many this year.
7.
Otters. Would like to see one, one day, but have seen their spraints.
8. Ants. Social insects, fascinating. Like to see ant hills and watch them moving large (for them) objects in teams!
9. Bumble bees, love these, they seem to have many parasites and short lives
10. Newts. Great little creatures, see them when clearing out pond.
11. Bats. Have seen a few close up, they are fascinating.
12. Foxes. Mangy, and reviled. Love to watch them at night.
13.Hares. Mythical and strange. Have seen them in the early morning.
14.
Hedgehogs, mostly seen squashed alas, but am very fond of them!
15. Dung beetles, see these most days climbing over the grass.
16.
Field Vole. Cute little beasts remind me of hamsters!
17.
Wood Mouse. Very clever, for one with such a small head, better outside than in the house!
18. Frogs (and toads) in my pond, and sometimes in the fields, see them at spawning time and singing.
19. Blackbirds, the greatest singers!!
20. Robins.
And
Moles the list could go on and on!
