| | | Rabbit in a tree Today whilst on a walk through a wooded area we saw a dead Rabbit wedged about 6ft up in the fork of a tree. I'm intrigued, what do you all think, a prank or perhaps put there by a predator/bird of prey? I've never seen this before, I did take a photo but haven't posted it incase it upsets someone. It was slightly off the path so I'm thinking if a person put it there wouldn't they have put it in a tree along the path rather than walking off the path? Or is this common practice by wardens, leaving it in a tree for scavangers? |

this is something that i saw last year! it was partially eaten and partially decomposed
where I live there are several pairs of Buzzards and the tree (an Oak) is very close to one of the pairs. I wondered at the time if this was how the poor old wabbit had ascended the Oak............ |

| | | Re: Rabbit in a tree I know of someone who shoots bunny's for the buzzards in his wood & places them so high! I'm sure the Buzzard is very capable of catching his own prey!

| | | Re: Rabbit in a tree Walking round Waggoners Wells,one day,i noticed something hanging from a tree above me.About 18" below a big branch,on an oak,there was a perch,on a hook,well suspended.I can only assume,that a youngster caught it,then decided to use it as bait,and overcast it!A carrion crow was very interested,but it was too low for him,but I suppose,in the end,some other poor creature managed to get it,hook and all,bobbo | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
