| | | Waters Edge Country Park Hi all
The long awaited visitor centre at Waters Edge Country Park Barton-upon-Humber North Lincolnshire opened on Friday 14th April.
Visited myself on Saturday 15th April and was impressed. The visitor centre itself is one of the greenest buildings in the UK and is made from materials designed to have the least impact on the invironment as possible.
There are many live camera feeds in the centre that that can be controlled by the public, zoomed in etc on points of interest around the park There is also a fixed camera showing inside a Blue Tits nestbox. Many graphical displays on wildlife and the environment are on show.
The country Park covers an area of 86 acres with several bird watching hides.
It really is worth a visit if you are in the area.
More information can be seen at this address. www.watersedgecountrypark.org

| | | Re: Waters Edge Country Park Very impressive web site Ollie. I can see me visiting it when next up there as it does look a good site. Seeing where it is situated it should pull some good birds in as the site establishes itself.
One point though. I think someone ought to point out that the image they have as a Coal Tit is in fact a Willow Tit.

| | | Re: Waters Edge Country Park It just goes to show what can be achieved in a relatively short space of time. This place used to be a heavily industrialised area, and was heavily polluted for many years. They eventually removed/cleaned up the waste and now it is a fantastic resource for wildlife and wildlife watchers. I'd take my hat off to them - if I was wearing one |
