| | | Re: Breeding Great Britich Pond Snails cannot answer all you questions
but from my experience snails will get into your pump no matter what you do
they lay hundreds of eggs and they get into the pump and hatch
of course they don't have to go anywhere to get food it comes to them |

| | | Re: Breeding Great Britich Pond Snails Presume you mean Great pond snail Lymnaea stagnalis? Lot of vegetation will allow them to breed, also lettuce, they breed through the warmer months from as early as march through to oct depending on temp. they move to deeper water in winter if your pond doesnt freeze solid they should be ok, also worth covering the pond. |

I put my old pond (above around) about 2-3months ago and ive read that they dig themselves into the dirt and form a thin membrane to protect them. With my pond being 1.5-2ft tall i was wondering if i could soak some shop made compost (if it will not be harmfull 2 them) and put it in a small container and put into the pond for them to go into for the winter |
