| | | Re: Wildlife Crime I'd maybe suggest a different title, perhaps "What to do if you find a suspect dead animal or bird". Ways to reduce wildlife crime would include educating the perpetrators to prevent the crimes in the first place.
If you do find a suspect carcass, make sure you ID it correctly first, I remember in Bowland a walker found a dead "hen harrier" and reported it, it turned out to be a red grouse!
In my travels I've found dead Short and Long-Eared Owls, Buzzards and Crows etc. Most of them were Goshawk kills, some were emaciated, one of the crows was ringed and was 9 years old!

I do agree that education is important. 80% of my work as a wildlife crime officer is running education projects, training courses and publicity campaigns etc. Enforcement is only a small but significant part.
The heading is wildlife crime as that is what the new area is going to deal with. Hopefully members will visit it regularly, and there has been set aside other areas for education purposes and campaigns etc.
