After the horrible weather this morning here in Romford, Essex, i wasn't holding up much hope of going for a walk today. While sheltering in a shed this moth came along:

I have no idea what type as I havent looked it up yet. though if someone wants to save me looking.....
Then about 5pm the sun came out and I thought I'd nip up to Rapheals Park nearby (any excuse not to work on my website!) and after making my way past the nasty Grey squirrels I got to the lake to be greeted by this:

I'd never seen a grey wagtail in this park, or anywhere in Essex that I remember.
A look across the lake and the week old moorhens were on show:
As were this much old Coot chicks, which were the size of an adult moorhen, as I discovered as one chased of one!:
Grazing on the field behind and hissing at anyone or thing that went near them were these Canada geese, which unfortunately have all but taken over the park
Then on my return journey I noticed something in one of the gardens that back on to the lake:
and then his friend/mate:
I then check a starling nest in an old woodpecker hole in a willow tree next to the lake and snapped these
and then to finsh of the day I found this:
As a fan of spiders its always nice to know there be plenty around this year!
I had such a lovely afternoon I thought I share it with you. Sorry bout the poor photo quality but the sun was in front of me for most the pics and Ive only got a bridge camera. And I hope I didnt bore you
