Chobham Common is bisected by the M3 so when ever that was built (I can't remember) I am sure there must have been some opposition. There may well have been some encroachment to the fringes through housing development but I do not recall any opposition campaign.
What I do remember is some controversial housing development a few years ago which encroached on the similar lowland heath habitat around Wareham in Dorset.
This is such a fragile and scarce habitat in the UK and it certainly requires protection for its wildlife.

The main problem comes from wicked arsonists or inorant fools dicarding dog ends, glass bottles, etc. |

| | | Re: Spring day on Chobham Common Let's hope the developers are kept at bay! I don't remember that news item, but there were similar scenarios around some of the Dorset heaths. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
