A cheap way of protecting the bulb from rain etc is if you have one of those cheap shops near to you (Pound land) from time to time they sell Cafetieres (Coffee jug with a plunger), remove the handle and just use the clear glass jug part.
I have seen this done a couple of times. | How much would something like that cost Mark, from that particular outlet?

I have seen this done a couple of times. | As per "Skinner trap" in picture 3 (only cost me 50p from a carboot sale! )

I have seen this done a couple of times. | I must admit if it looks like rain I open up the garage door and stick the moth trap just inside the garage. The upended door stops the rain from coming in and I still get to trap moths.
I think I will have to eventually look to protect the bulb though but at the moment I will be away every weekend from now until after May 17th so haven't got a chance of getting near any shops.

Well I have also joined the club! I think a good feast with a couple of ""tinnies or "bottles" sets the scene for a good mothing event.
If only folks could have seen how we started the 2006 NMN event!

By the time I get to do any mothing (third week in May) I hopefully will be able to buy something to act as a cover for the bulb.
What on earth does a cafitere look like. I have never heard of them.

like that - though this is an expensive one rather than a poundland special

| | | Re: Mothing I now see what you mean. One question though. These bulbs get quite hot. With something like that over them, wouldn't they melt?
