| | | Good 100% waterproof boots I have had my rock gritex evolution boots for longer than I can remember and they have been fantastic - BUT they are starting to perish near the sole and last week I had my first ever wet foot
So I am in the market for some new boots - did a search for Rock boots and nothing came up so what boots do you all use looking to spend up to £75 so please give me your recommendations.

| | | Re: Good 100% waterproof boots I've had many walking boots over the past years and some good, some bad. However, saying, the best ones I've had are the Berghaus Explorer boots, nice and lightweight, waterproof and good grip.
I'm walking the Coast to Coast this May and I'm at the moment, deciding on the footwear, be it trainer's or boots, but I think the boots will win the day and it will be the Explorer by far. The reason is I will need good ankle support, good waterproofing and something that looks good.
I got mine from Go-Outdoors in the sales, worth looking around. |

| | | Re: Good 100% waterproof boots I do a bit of hillwalking when I can and use scarpa terra gtx. A fair bit more than you wanted to pay, but I would recommend them.
Ultimately though, your boot choice should be down to what fits you when you try them on. I had my feet professionally measured at a good outdoor equipment shop. They picked up that I rolled my ankles slightly and supplied special insoles to correct this. They fitted so well that within a few hours of getting my boots, I had walked four miles around a nature reserve with out breaking them in. I think within a week or two, they had been fourteen miles around Cressbrook dale area and nine miles up kinder scout.
I paid a total of £160 but managed to get a 10% discount, but it was worth every penny.

| | | Re: Good 100% waterproof boots The last Berghaus boots were great, although a little worn in places, there are still very waterproof to this day. Yes, I have good faith in the Explorer's. However, I've heard there is a boot factory in Richmond, North Yorkshire called Alt-Berg and there have some good reviews and do boot fitting measurement. Well worth checking out. |

| | | Re: Good 100% waterproof boots Another vote for Scarpa, but they aren't the cheapest. I have 2 different pairs of Scarpas, one pair are quite soft and really comfy, like an old pair of slippers, I use them for shorter low to mid-level walks. The other pair are more rigid and give more ankle support and I use them for longer or higher walks, particularly if I'm going to be off paths.
I'd also recommend getting properly measured and making sure you've got a decent footbed in whatever boots you get. I have superfeet insoles in my boots, which completely cured joint pain I was getting whilst walking. Again, they aren't cheap, around £30 per pair, but they are worth it if you have any kind of foot or joint problems when walking.
Regards, Audrey. |

Regards, Audrey. | They're the ones I got. As you say, £30 but not had a problem, so worth every penny. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
