Neil. | I got that info re. viruses from my son who works for Rank Xerox. He only uses Macs for a number of reasons, including the fact that they never become infected with viruses etc.

I've had two now, one from 'Northern Rock' and another from 'Santander'. I actually only have an account with the latter, but both said a similar message, that they had temporarily suspended my account due to 'financial irregularities' or the 'threat of fraudulant action' (which is ironic) and needed me to supply personal details so as to enable my account to be put back into use. Obviously I deleted both.
It's worth noting that my protection software highlighted the second instance as a probable fraudulent e-mail. |

I had an interesting one the other day. It was a '419' scam, but the unusual thing about it was that it purported to come from a Japanese woman.

| | | Re: Blocked computer scam The Moneywise site produces a warning 'scam of the week' - this week's it's one aimed at Amazon customers - looks very professional. Scam of the week - Beware of the Amazon scam | Moneywise
At the risk of advertising, Moneywise sends out weekly e-mails with often useful financial information. It's not intrusive and I'd recommend it for the scam warnings alone! Compare savings, cash ISA, mortgages, cards, loans | News | TV by Moneywise
