What lens? Canon EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS II USM?

Kayleigh, before committing yourself to spending some hard earned cash on a 'new lens' is there not someone you know who could possibly check your technique and thus give you some tips that could help you towards your aim, better images ?? You may find that by improving your technique,choosing correct camera settings and the use of software for sharpening,your images will be more to your liking. A new lens isn't always the answer !
Is there not a 'camera club' in your area who may have a member willing to give you some tips ?

I know someone who has the Tamron lens and gets very satisfactory results although like most would like a 'longer lens'.

I'd say John D's advice is spot on Kayleigh - if you think it's your technique that's at fault then it's worth spending some time working on that before changing your equipment.

Thank you for all the tips,
I know when I get the setting right and the light is good I do get some decent shots I will keep my tamron but use this new lens for everyday use.
I am learning how to edit in elements now.
I will try the tamron on 200 to see if I am happy with the range.
I have looked into photography clubs here but nothing suitable has come up yet, they all cost £50+ and include elements I have got this already so I am not buying it again.
