optricon bino's

hi guys I went in to my local shop today try some binoculars,tried hawke didn't like as much then tried couple pairs of optricon's the countryman 8x42 they were nice then the discovery's which are £100 cheaper.wondered if anyone uses either and is it worth spending the extra £100 on the countryman's I did like them bit more.or any others worth considering could stretch to £325.want them for birdwatching and for the coast woodlands etc as live in cornwall

A couple of weeks ago I was at my local (ish) camera shop lusting over a pair of Swarovsi 8.5 x 42 ELs (subsequently purchased at a very good price). A friend came along, as he likes spending my money, and he was very much taken by the Vortex Viper HD 8x42 bins. These are a bit more than you want to spend but I would suggest yo save up and then have a look. The Swarovsky bins are better but the Vortex bins were much closer than we were expecting in our very non scientific tests (look down the street in crappy light!) he was impressed enough to buy them! They also come with a lifetime (almost) un conditional/transferable guarantee. Well woth a look even if they do cost more.

hi johnf3f thanks for info I will try and see if anywhere in cornwall sells them so I can have a look,my local shop sells optricon hawkes lecia and the swarvoskis,there was nothing second hand in there.

Have a pair or Vortex Diamondbacks 10x42 that I am happy with for the price point ( about £150 ).
Lifetime warranty.

hi guys thanks for all info,after weeks of trying bin's I now own the optricon verano bga hd.they blew all the others out of the water for me including the hawkes ed's.bit over my budget but I'm happy,couldn't leave them there as been reduced in price
