A friend came along, as he likes spending my money, and he was very much taken by the Vortex Viper HD 8x42 bins. These are a bit more than you want to spend but I would suggest yo save up and then have a look. The Swarovsky bins are better but the Vortex bins were much closer than we were expecting in our very non scientific tests (look down the street in crappy light!) he was impressed enough to buy them! They also come with a lifetime (almost) un conditional/transferable guarantee. Well woth a look even if they do cost more.
