Hi,
I was recently given a pentax K100D with an 18-55mm lens and would like to take some close up shots of birds and other wildlife.
However I don't know much about lenses (least of all what the numbers mean) and would like some advice as to which lens I could buy that will fit my camera. I have found a pentax 50-200mm for around £200. Is this a good lens and is the price reasonable.
I would appreciate some members comments on this.  |

A popular 1st zoom is the Sigma 70-300 APO DG this had a "macro"
(really a good close -up facility) under £200 Microglobe home of photgraphic equipment in UK
£139 +p+p

I've been pondering the same question for a while... and it seems most people think both the Tamron and Sigma 70-300 with 'macro' facility to be good value.
What finally decided it for me was the £ 56 price the Tamron is currently being sold at at techno.co.uk !
