Gitzo tripod with levelling head
good ball head
wimberly side kick
Hide (one of those dome tent hides made for photographers) with extra scrim also in camo.
and shameless plug:
a trolley to get it all on location without the back breaking struggle. Couldn't find anything to do the job so I designed and made them myself: nomie
Now here's a question for you, has anyone found a good hide seat? Please let me know, as yet I just can't find anything close.

Glyn | I use a little tripod seat, got it from the local army & navy store, got three for a tenner. Only disadvantage is the feet sink into soft ground, maybe something to do with my weight mind you! Jon

No it's not your weight, I tried one of these an I sank in the soft soil also. I'm looking for a small folding seat. It should have a back rest and adjustable leg length. I've looked in fishing tackle shops but no luck yet. I am beginning to think I may have to design it myself, but having spent a couple of years sorting out the trolley design and manufacture, I was rather keen to buy one off the shelf!

| | | Re: Favourite and most useful piece of equipment. I have two.
Number one has to be my trusty Fuji finepix S7000, a brilliant pro-sumer SLR sytle compact that has a macro capability that easily out matches most dedicated macro lenses below £400, it now goes everywhere with me and I wouldn't part with it
Number two, My Sigma 150mm f2.8 EX DG HSM macro lens, this lens fitted to my EOS 20D has revolutionised my photography, as a macro lens it is second to none, its without doubt the best macro lens currently available and turns out faultless sharp images time after time.
It also doubles as a very fast short range Telephoto, excellent for in-flight work with birds. It may be a bit on the expensive side, buts its worth every last penny. |
