| | | Spectacles and condensation I'm sure I'm not the only WABber who wears spectacles, and I'm sure I'm not the only one to have problems with condensation on the lenses when using binoculars in cold or humid weather. Has anybody come up with a solution to this minor, but irritating, problem?

| | | Re: Spectacles and condensation Luckily it does not happen often, my usual resort was a cleaning cloth and spray from a Sports shop sold for skiers and divers. However I came across this if it is any good How to Make an Anti-Fog Lens Cleaner | eHow.com

| | | Re: Spectacles and condensation As well as the condensation problem, I just can't use binoculars and specs. If I'm wearing my specs when I'm out and spot something I want to look at, I have to shove my glasses up, then move my bins to my eyes.
This takes too long and ususally what I want to look at has moved, so I have to bring my glasses back down and start all over again.
The only decent solution I've found is to wear contact lenses when I'm out wildlife watching. There's no chance of me dropping my specs either.
Regards, Audrey. |

T2 | Spray a bit of WD40 on a tissue, then wipe this on yer glasses (just a very thin film, don't over do it). This method will also stop yer bathroom mirror from steaming up. |

Mine are lightweights with some sort of - I dunno - plastic, acetate, poly? whatever! Is there anything in WD40 that will eat into the plastic? I'm very careful these days about using hairspray - I take my specs off and put them in the cabinet while I spray my hair as an older pair I noticed were getting pitted and affecting the sight thro them and I attributed it to hairspray ........ | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
