| | | Warm wellies you can walk in? Can anyone recommend a good make of wellington boot for men that you can walk a few miles in and that are warm?
Thanks in advance.

| | | Re: Warm wellies you can walk in? Well, dunno about the walking bit, but I have seen a new line in Crocs wellies, fleecy lined, grippy, and if crocs are anything to go by they are really comfy, and I must walk miles in mine over the year! I saw an article this year by a podiatrist who was saying that crocs are actually a good all rounder for foot/arch support? Anyway just a thought, here's the link so you can view them, but these have no liners Jx Crocband Jaunt Wellies

| | | Re: Warm wellies you can walk in? Yes. Trust me. Forget all your fancy boots, neoprene, leather lined, hand made in Scotland, French named, side zipped, iron slippery studded, rubber rubbish and spend under £30 on the warmest, grippiest, treadiest soleiest brand from Germany called Nora. Unlined plastic wellies that if you get them submerged you can dry them out in two minutes with two tissues.
A dairy (cow) man told me about these in the early '80's and I've worn out many pairs since. Pair in my van now - wouldn't be without them. Nice and wide to take bootsox, good in the calf. BTW, Bama sockettes are pretty good too.
One of many sites selling them.. http://www.discountwellies.co.uk/Pro...%20Wellingtons

| | | Re: Warm wellies you can walk in? Lets put it this way - I wouldn't want to wear any other brand and haven't done in this weather. Yesterday was minus 13.5 here at dawn and with an ordinary pair of Pringles socks on I was out at dawn in wellie deep snow with dry warm feet. The plastic compound is warm. If your OH takes size 46, you buy them and he doesn't get on with them, I'll buy them from you. How's that for confidence.
I find neoprene jobs very sweaty and clammy. Cheap plastic wellies will eventually crack across the sole when de-plasticized.
I should've mentioned the grip too. Despite the treads, the plastic compound grips well on rock and smooth concrete.

| | | Re: Warm wellies you can walk in? I was going for size 12, that seems to be size 46, is it? He is 11-11 1/2, and I should add a little.
How did you know this was for the OH Woodman, that's amazing.

| | | Re: Warm wellies you can walk in? I use these after getting through several different types of wellies, unbelievably warm, grippy, hard wearing and comfortable.
The Spey version is the one! General purpose wellingtons from Muck Boots
